A year and a half later where some businesses are back to work-from-office model, some have chosen to stick to work from home. COVID-19 pandemic has divided professionals into two groups – those who have found their solace in WFH and those who are not too keen about it.
Let’s talk about the second group, those who can feel their productivity bars going red. During this entire tenure, we have all come across various tactics to help us stay motivated, but let’s face it, doing the same routine everyday makes it boring. So, let’s look at the different ways we are using to keep ourselves going.
Create Personal Calendars
Creating cool personal calendars can help us stay calculated and on track. You can divide your time slots, set time for different tasks while assigning yourself tiny power breaks. This way your calendar can be more of a brief guide to refresh your mind and a reminder to accomplish things.
A pro-tip for this rule: STICK TO IT!
An Amazing Playlist
We all love good music – the definition of good changes from person to person. So whatever music is good for you, just make a kickass playlist and listen to it while working. Sing along and relax your mind. If you’re distracted by music while working, try playing it in the background at a low volume to help soothe the aura.
Define a WFH workplace
For some, working from home means working from bed. It was fun at the start of the quarantine, but it shouldn’t be anymore. To keep yourself productive, try defining a particular space and label it as your own home workspace. Decorate it with pictures, plants, or things you love; maybe your pet too, and get a refreshing feel.
Self-care!
WFH does not mean working 24/7. Learn to prioritize self-care. When under pressure, just take a quick 5-10 minutes break and put yourself first. Watch a video, do quick yoga, take a power nap, sit with your family and just give your mind a break.
Reward Yourself
After a day’s hard work, we do deserve a reward so set up rewards for your own self. You can set mini goals, ‘If I accomplish this task by this time, I’ll catch up on the new episode of my show’. Little rewards tend to keep you motivated towards accomplishing your day’s tasks.
We understand WFH can be tough, people need to go out. But, in times when you can’t, make the most of the opportunity and try things that you haven’t previously tried. Till then, let’s continue conquering remotely!
